Korean Market Update

KAU19 prices has fluctuated between KRW 33,000 and KRW 39,050 but has since stabilized by the second half of January. Around 243,000 tons traded in the Exchange of which 173,000 tons were from intraday deals making up 71.2% of the month’s total trading volume.

From January 2019 to December 2019, the cumulative KAU19 trading volume was 2.03 million tons where 1.29 million tons (73.9%) were intraday deals and 739,000 tons (36.4%) were traded through negotiations.
