Ecoeye Establishes Foundation to Lead ASEAN Reclaimed Refrigerant Market |
---|
From June 25 to 27, Ecoeye participated in the "ENTECH HANOI 2025" exhibition held in Hanoi, Vietnam, where it hosted a project briefing session to introduce its flagship “Vietnam Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Project.” The session attracted strong interest from government agencies and industry stakeholders. In particular, Mr. Tang The Cuong, Director General of the Department of Climate Change (DCC), attended the session and expressed strong governmental support and willingness to collaborate.
On June 27, the final day of the exhibition, Ecoeye held a bilateral meeting with Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA), an agency under the Ministry. This MOU marks the first time the VEA has signed such an agreement with a private company, reflecting the Vietnamese government’s strong confidence in Ecoeye’s technological capabilities and green business model. The agreement is expected to serve as a key milestone in establishing the legal and technical foundation for Ecoeye’s refrigerant recovery and recycling operations in Vietnam, as well as in expanding the project under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement as an international mitigation activity.
Based on this collaboration, Ecoeye plans to continue working-level consultations with the Vietnamese government to develop a sustainable business model. At the same time, the company is also pursuing cooperation with Malaysia’s Ministry of Environment through an international mitigation support program and is preparing to sign a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the implementation of an Article 6 project.
Through its refrigerant recovery and recycling projects in Vietnam and Malaysia, Ecoeye has laid the groundwork to lead the ASEAN region’s transition to carbon neutrality based on reclaimed refrigerants. CEO Soobok Lee stated, “Our projects in Vietnam and Malaysia will serve as successful models for ASEAN’s carbon-neutral transition,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our role as a global partner in building a sustainable future based on a circular economy.”
