Ecoeye and NH Investment & Securities Successfully Host 1st Carbon Market Seminar, Discussing Future Strategies for the Carbon Market

  Ecoeye successfully co-hosted the 1st Carbon Market Seminar with NH Investment & Securities on May 9. Held under the theme "Carbon Market, a Time of Change Has Come," the seminar gathered over 100 key business entities eligible for allocation that play a central role in Korea’s carbon neutrality efforts. In addition to executives from Ecoeye and NH Investment & Securities, representatives from the global ESG service provider MSCI and law firm Bae, Kim & Lee LLC also participated as speakers.

 

  The seminar covered major topics focusing on domestic and international carbon market trends and policy changes, including the latest developments and outlook for the Korea Emissions Trading Scheme (K-ETS), the K-ETS spot trading platform to be operated by NH Investment & Securities by the end of the year, corporate response strategies to future changes such as the introduction of a carbon futures market, and the current status of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU-ETS) and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), including how Korean companies are responding. Ecoeye provided insights into the current trends and future outlook of the K-ETS market, while focusing on key developments and case studies from global markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

 

  Following the official sessions, a networking session was held to introduce the joint carbon credit business model currently being developed by Ecoeye and NH Investment & Securities. Both sides stated that they would continue to share the latest market insights with corporations, financial institutions, and public agencies through regular forums and seminars.
