February 2018: Korean Climate Policies and ETS forecast

Korea’s current commitment to the Paris Agreement is to reduce GHG emissions by 37% by 2030. One of the government’s main instruments is the Korea Emission Trading Scheme (K-ETS) established in January 2015 in addition to several energy policies as directed under the Low Carbon Green Growth Act. 

 

It is important that these policy instruments (e.g. ETS, Electricity Supply and Demand Plan) are consistent to synergize climate efforts and actions...
